About the
Program

The program focuses on fostering community-based entrepreneurship among women and mothers. Participants meet weekly, learn, build connections, and grow both personally and professionally—which in turn, benefits the entire community. The program provides participants with tools to develop a shared vision for the future and for connecting personal aspirations with social action, strengthening their neighborhoods and positively impacting thousands of children, youth, and residents. The Ayalot Community operates in partnership with local authorities, philanthropic foundations, and businesses—and provides participants with scholarships.

Women facing unique challenges hold valuable, experiential knowledge for advancing their neighborhoods and communities. The Ayalot Community creates the conditions for participants to become leaders.

Long-Term Investment

Municipal investment in building neighborhood-based women’s communities strengthens resilience and a sense of security, and reduces violence and crime. Our alumni network continues to support participants even after the program ends, this ensures long-term sustainability of the program.

After two years of learning, growth, being there for one another, and lifting each other up, the group is an immense force! Each of us chose to take action in our communities in areas we care about—because what begins as a personal challenge is often a broader social issue, and there is a sense of relief in realizing it is not yours alone. Thanks to these spaces I became who I am today—stronger than ever. And never forget that we are doing the hardest job – Being mothers!

We have accompanied the Ayalot Program as partners since the beginning. Over the years we have witnessed significant changes in the lives of the women and their surrounding communities, and we have chosen to continue supporting the program’s expansion. The project has brought together a group of women from the neighborhood for a meaningful in-depth process of learning, growth, and action. Throughout the meetings, it was possible to see participants who arrived with no background in community involvement, learning and developing into impressive leaders who make change, influence the character of the neighborhood, and build community. Some examples of initiatives include: establishing a second-hand shop as a social business, supporting homebound residents, participating in the community carpentry workshop, and creating cultural events within the neighborhood. The organization has led the process with professionalism and in close partnership, and this collaboration has yielded excellent results.
